An Accra High Court has granted a 10-day interim injunction preventing former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo from moving forward with the funeral and burial arrangements for the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
The injunction was sought by the Kristo Asafo Mission and was explained by their lawyer, Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka, who noted that it halts Adwoa Safo’s organisation of the funeral until the court can further address the matter.
This legal action arises from ongoing disputes within the Safo family regarding who possesses the rightful authority to manage the funeral arrangements and fulfil the final wishes of Apostle Kwadwo Safo. Originally slated for July 30 and 31, 2026, the funeral is now postponed due to the court’s ruling.
Despite the injunction, Adwoa Safo stated in an interview with Eyewitness News on Tuesday, July 28, that she remains committed to carrying out the funeral as planned and urged her brother, Kwadwo Safo Akofena, to refrain from interfering with the arrangements.
