The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is seeking a media collaboration with Media General. Officials from the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also known as Mahama Cares, engaged with the management and leadership of Media General, led by Group Chief Executive Officer Beatrice Agyemang.

This strategic meeting took place at Media General’s offices in Accra on Tuesday, June 23. The Trust Fund representatives emphasised that their objectives align closely with Media General’s focus on public interest and health-related programming, particularly considering the numerous health-related requests and causes the organisation supports each year.

Management highlighted that the Trust Fund addresses a crucial national need by helping Ghanaians access specialised treatment within Ghana. This initiative leverages existing healthcare facilities and specialist expertise in the country, reducing the need for treatment abroad.

The discussion also underscored the importance of using media as a bridge between patients, healthcare providers, and available support systems. This approach aims to raise awareness about where help can be accessed. Beatrice Agyemang and her senior management team expressed a strong interest in the work of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, acknowledging the significance of increasing awareness regarding non-communicable diseases and access to specialised healthcare.
