President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured the Ghanaian public that the upcoming 2024 elections will be free, fair, and peaceful. He emphasized his commitment to ensuring a transparent electoral process and expressed confidence that he would hand over power to the choice of the people, regardless of the election outcome.

During a recent event, President Akufo-Addo reiterated the government’s dedication to maintaining a peaceful environment leading up to the elections. He called on all political stakeholders to uphold the principles of democracy and work together to ensure that the electoral process reflects the will of the citizens. His remarks underscore the importance of collective efforts in fostering a peaceful atmosphere for the elections scheduled for December 7, 2024. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has pledged that the general elections scheduled for December 7, 2024, will be conducted in a manner that is free, fair, transparent, and peaceful. He emphasized his commitment to upholding the democratic process, stating that he would willingly hand over the presidency to the candidate chosen by the Ghanaian people, regardless of the outcome.

In his remarks, President Akufo-Addo called on all political parties and stakeholders to work collaboratively to ensure a smooth electoral process, highlighting the importance of maintaining peace and order during the elections. His assurance aims to foster confidence among the electorate and underscore the government’s dedication to democracy and the will of the citizens.

Speaking at the grand durbar of the Anlo Hogbetsotso Za festival on Saturday, November 11, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the chiefs and people of Anlo for their unwavering support and prayers throughout his presidency. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring a transparent and peaceful election process, acknowledging the importance of maintaining peace during his nearly eight-year tenure.

President Akufo-Addo emphasized, “As we all know, without peace, there can be no proper development,” and assured the audience that the peace enjoyed in the country would extend through the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024. He addressed the people of Anlo, the Volta region, and all Ghanaians, affirming that the elections would be conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful manner. “I will hand over the baton of national leadership to whoever the people of Ghana choose on the 7th of December to succeed me,” he pledged, prompting resounding applause from the gathered crowd.

As President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s presidency nears its conclusion, he has embarked on a nationwide tour to personally express his gratitude to Ghanaians for their support. While he intends to revisit the Volta Region specifically, he seized the opportunity presented by the Hogbetsotso Za festival—his last festival appearance before leaving office—to convey a heartfelt message of appreciation.

The festival, held in Anloga, was a vibrant celebration of Anlo heritage and Ghana’s rich cultural diversity, drawing together dignitaries, traditional leaders, and community members. The Awoemefia (Overlord), Togbi Sri III, presided over the event, emphasizing the festival’s significance in promoting unity and cultural pride among the Anlo people. President Akufo-Addo’s participation underscored the importance of community engagement and the celebration of Ghanaian traditions as his administration comes to a close.
