THE FAMILY OF THE LATE DIPLOMAT JAMES VICTOR GBEHO HAS OFFICIALLY INFORMED PRESIDENT JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA OF HIS PASSING.

The family of the late diplomat James Victor Gbeho has officially informed President John Dramani Mahama of his passing during a recent courtesy call. This delegation, representing the Gbeho family, emphasised the cultural and diplomatic importance of notifying the President before making a public announcement about the death.

Ambassador Gbeho was a highly respected figure in both Ghanaian and international politics. He held numerous diplomatic positions, including serving in New York. Additionally, he was Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, a Member of Parliament for the Anlo constituency, and the President (formerly Executive Secretary) of the ECOWAS Commission. Gbeho was known for his significant contributions to regional integration and global diplomacy, particularly at the United Nations.

President Mahama expressed his condolences and reflected on Ambassador Gbeho’s impactful contributions to the country, West Africa, and the world. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
