This payment was part of the financial settlement following Rajevac\u2019s departure from the team. The figure highlights the cost of terminating his contract, which was part of the arrangement after he was let go from his position as head coach of the national team. The Serbian tactician <strong>Milovan Rajevac<\/strong> was dismissed after <strong>Ghana&#8217;s disappointing performance<\/strong> at the <strong>2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)<\/strong> in Cameroon. Following his sacking, the <strong>Sports Ministry<\/strong> instructed the <strong>Ghana Football Association (GFA)<\/strong> to restructure the <strong>Black Stars\u2019 Management Committee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview on <strong>Game Plan<\/strong> on <strong>Joy FM<\/strong> on <strong>Friday, 29 November 2024<\/strong>, <strong>Henry Asante-Twum<\/strong>, the GFA Communications Director, explained the financial challenges the GFA faced in settling Rajevac\u2019s outstanding arrears. Asante-Twum mentioned that once Rajevac was fired, he quickly sought redress through <strong>FIFA<\/strong>, which complicated the process further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The situation was made more difficult by Rajevac&#8217;s urgent move to FIFA, highlighting the pressure the GFA was under to address the contractual and financial obligations following his dismissal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry Asante-Twum revealed that <strong>FIFA<\/strong> ruled in favor of <strong>Milovan Rajevac<\/strong>, forcing the <strong>Ghana Football Association (GFA)<\/strong> to pay <strong>over $100,000<\/strong>, specifically about <strong>$117,000<\/strong> in compensation. Despite several attempts to seek financial assistance, the <strong>Ministry of Sports<\/strong> was not forthcoming, leaving the <strong>GFA<\/strong> to settle the amount on its own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This situation has made the <strong>GFA<\/strong> cautious in its approach to the future of <strong>Otto Addo<\/strong>, the current head coach of the <strong>Black Stars<\/strong>, especially after the team&#8217;s failed qualification for the <strong>AFCON 2024<\/strong>. The meeting, which lasted over <strong>four hours<\/strong>, allowed the <strong>ExCo<\/strong> members to scrutinize Addo&#8217;s <strong>tactical decisions<\/strong> and <strong>overall management<\/strong> of the team, further intensifying discussions about his future as coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry Asante-Twum shared that <strong>Otto Addo<\/strong> presented a comprehensive <strong>56-page report<\/strong> covering key details such as <strong>player call-ups<\/strong>, <strong>tactics<\/strong>, and the <strong>outcomes of all six qualifying games<\/strong> for <strong>AFCON 2024<\/strong>. After the presentation, each member of the <strong>GFA Executive Council (ExCo)<\/strong> had the opportunity to ask questions regarding the team\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, despite the detailed report, <strong>discussions on Otto Addo\u2019s future<\/strong> as head coach of the <strong>Black Stars<\/strong> remain unresolved.
