Nigerian actor Richard Mofe Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has publicly expressed his support for John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections in Ghana. Speaking during an interview with Doreen Avio on the red carpet of the 2024 EMY Awards held in Accra, RMD shared his thoughts with Ghanaians ahead of the December 7 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged voters to choose a leader who will prioritize the interests of the people over personal gain, advising them not to make the mistake that many African nations have made in the past. \u201cThey should vote for the best man, the man who has your back,\u201d RMD stated. He emphasized that not all candidates on the ballot truly have the people\u2019s interests at heart, but that Ghanaians can recognize who genuinely supports them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While RMD did not explicitly name his preferred candidate, he did acknowledge that he has a favourite and expressed his hope that Ghanaians would select the individual he believes would serve them best in the upcoming election.
