The Bright Future Alliance (TBFA), a youth-led civil society group committed to promoting good governance, combating economic crime (anti-corruption), and empowering young people, had the honor of visiting the Vice President of Ghana, H.E. Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang, at the Jubilee House.
This high-level meeting provided an opportunity to discuss key governance challenges, anti-corruption strategies, and the crucial role of youth in creating a more transparent and accountable future for Ghana and Africa.
The TBFA delegation was led by Mr. Bright Ofori, Executive Director, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts to strengthen public institutions and address corruption.
The discussion focused on improving institutional integrity, increasing youth involvement in policy reforms, and developing sustainable anti-corruption initiatives.
During the meeting, Mr. Ofori also introduced TBFA’s upcoming initiative, “Corporations Against Corruption” (CAC), a national anti-corruption campaign targeting state-owned enterprises and public institutions in Ghana.
The initiative aims to integrate anti-corruption training and ethical frameworks into organizational structures, including:
- Onboarding programs that promote ethical values for new employees.
- Procurement and business ethics training for sustainable corporate governance.
- Training workshops for leaders and staff to reinforce ethical decision-making.
TBFA has created a standardized anti-corruption training framework that can be adapted for both private and public organizations, ensuring a long-term approach to promoting integrity and combating corruption.
A key moment of the meeting was TBFA’s official invitation to the Vice President to attend, speak at, and serve as the Guest of Honour at the upcoming African Governance and Anti-Corruption Summit. The summit will gather policymakers, civil society leaders, youth, and governance experts from across Africa to discuss innovative approaches to governance and anti-corruption practices.
TBFA also congratulated H.E. Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang on her historic achievement as Ghana’s first female Vice President, wishing her success in her role and expressing hope for continued progress in governance and the development of a better future for the youth and next generation.
In her remarks, the Vice President praised TBFA’s work and urged young people to actively participate in the fight against corruption, stressing the importance of leading by example as student leaders and community influencers.
The Bright Future Alliance remains committed to empowering young people, advocating for policy reforms, and building strategic partnerships that promote sustainable development and governance transformation in Ghana and beyond.
