Beginning October 22, 2024, Ghanaians applying for visas to the United Kingdom will need to use a new Visa Application Centre (VAC) operated by VFS Global. This change marks the replacement of TLScontact, the UK’s previous third-party service provider. Applicants who have already started their visa process with TLScontact will need to finalize their applications through VFS Global.
In an official announcement from the UK government, it was stated, “You will be contacted by email if this change affects you.” Officials reassured applicants that the transition will not impact visa decisions, processing times, or fees, allowing for a seamless experience during the application process.
The move to VFS Global is intended to enhance service quality, including reducing the time needed for biometric data collection and application submissions. The UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) department highlighted that this global network of VACs is managed by third-party suppliers to improve accessibility and efficiency for applicants.
Marc Owen, Director for Visa, Status, and Information Services at UKVI, expressed enthusiasm about the new VAC, describing it as a significant step towards offering a world-class visa application service. The new VAC will be located on the Mezzanine Floor of the Grand Oyeeman Building, South Liberation Link, Accra. For further details regarding the changes and to locate the nearest VAC, applicants are encouraged to visit the UK government’s official website.
